Students of MBA, Engineering, Computers and other streams are always relaxed and unconcerned till they face the placement season or the job interviews. Very few (in these times rarely anyone ) prepares ahead for the interviews, group discussion and the aptitude tests. Then they wake up and hurriedly try to prepare to face the strenuous aptitude test and the challenges of GD and interview. . By then it is too late. They face rejections due to which they become dejected and disheartened. Over confidence and under preparation results into frustration. I have seen students who did not sit for a Rs. 20,000/- per month job interviews finally decide to work for Rs. 8000/- per month job, six months later. That too if it is available. The purpose of starting this academy is to remove one cause - under preparation. I have designed a short but intensive course of one month that covers 30 aptitude subjects under logical, verbal and quantitative areas with continuous testing on each day of the course, I also explain the solutions to the questions in the test so that the student understands the nature of their mistakes and learns some tricks; the questions are formulated to represent the entire subject and we have a guiding book that helps them prepare ahead. Combine that with 11 days of intensive group discussion and interview practice - both of them are closely monitored, tips and tricks are provided and individual feedback is given on performance. But why reinvent the wheel, are the institutes themselves not providing the training? They do! but it is not effective, firstly it is once a week ( students lose touch -we have it thrice a week) secondly it is imparted to a class of 60 + students (where is the personal attention? - we have a batch of 20). Thirdly the students see it as another subject so are unconcerned while when they pay from their pocket at my academy they definitely work towards getting a return on their investment. In a way I am working with the institutes when my students gets placed the institutes get the credit. Hope the students start preparing ahead, start sitting in the library and start reading business newspapers daily, then we will have more happiness all around. |
